Summer Activities

Adventure awaits in the White Mountains

Top Summer Activities in the White Mountains

Hiking

Explore over 100 miles of trails in the White Mountain National Forest, from easy walks to challenging peaks like Mount Washington.

Biking

Ride scenic routes through the valley or tackle mountain biking trails at nearby Attitash or Cranmore.

Fishing

Cast a line in the Saco River right from our property, or explore nearby streams and ponds for trout and bass.

Nature & Wildlife

Spot moose, deer, and birds in their natural habitat. The White Mountains are home to incredible wildlife.

Summer on the Saco River

The Saco runs right along our property, which means the valley's favorite summer playground starts at the edge of the lawn. Swim from the riverbank on hot afternoons, cast a line for trout and bass in the cooler hours, or float the calm, sandy-bottomed stretches that make this river famous for tubing. Prefer paddling? We can arrange canoe and kayak rentals through local outfitters — or book our Kayak & Tubing package, which bundles a river trip with your stay and breakfast.

Hiking for Every Ability

Few places in New England pack more trail into a short drive. Ten minutes away, Diana's Baths is an easy, family-friendly walk to a series of waterfalls and natural pools — perfect for little legs and photo stops. Echo Lake State Park adds a gentle lakeside loop beneath the sheer faces of Cathedral Ledge and White Horse Ledge, with a summit road view that costs nothing but the drive.

From there the White Mountain National Forest opens up more than a hundred miles of trails, from mellow river walks to the granite ridgelines that made these mountains famous. The ambitious can take on Mount Washington itself — the highest peak in the Northeast — on foot, by the historic Cog Railway, or up the Auto Road. Whatever you choose, pack layers: mountain weather writes its own forecast.

Fall & Winter in the Valley

From late September into mid-October the valley turns to fire, and leaf-peepers come from around the world. The Kancamagus Highway — one of America's great foliage drives — starts in nearby Conway, and the riverbank outside your room does a fine impression of it without the traffic. Come winter, Cranmore and Attitash ski areas are ten to twenty minutes away; ask about our seasonal Ski & Stay package, then thaw out afterward in our private hot tub and sauna.

More Ways to Play

Golfers can tee off at the North Conway Country Club right in the village — or warm up on our own putting green first. Mountain bikers will find lift-served trails at Attitash and Cranmore and mellow valley rides in between, while road cyclists loop the scenic river roads. Horseback riding and sleigh rides run seasonally around the Mount Washington Valley, Echo Lake offers calm-water swimming beneath Cathedral Ledge, and the Conway Scenic Railroad turns getting around into the activity itself. However you fill the day, the hot tub, sauna, and fire pits are waiting when you get back.

Easy Days & Family Fun

Not every vacation day needs a summit. Story Land and its Moo Lagoon water play area delight the under-ten crowd, Cranmore's Mountain Adventure Park runs coasters and ziplines all summer, and the Conway Scenic Railroad rolls vintage trains out of the village station. Back at the farm, the playground, putting green, seasonal pool, and evening fire pits fill the in-between hours — and our complimentary farm breakfast fuels whatever the day holds.
